The Issue: Trees provide shelter, food, shade, and water for animals in the forest. They also provide oxygen for us all to breathe, and absorb carbon dioxide . But deforestation (cutting down trees) is a major problem.

What you like most about science: I like that there is so much we don’t know, and I want to find out many things.
Advice to kids who think science is boring: I know you probably think science is just, well, science, but it is so much more. It is a choose-your-own-adventure story that has no end!

Favorite plant or animal: Mudskipper. I love mudskippers because they are one of the only fish that can breathe air and the only fish that can climb trees.

Advice to kids who think science is boring: Anything that you’re building or experimenting with is science. If you want to make a hoverboard that can go to the moon. That’s science. You experience science everyday. your phone, building, your pets. If you like anything. You like science.
